Worldwide Universities Network
The Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) was initiated in 2000 as a United Kingdom/United States university network but now comprises 18 research-intensive institutions spanning five continents. Its mission is to be one of the leading international Higher Education networks, collaborating to accelerate the creation of knowledge and to develop leaders who will be prepared to address the significant challenges, and opportunities, of our rapidly changing world.
The WUN creates new, multilateral opportunities for international collaboration in research and graduate education. It is a flexible, dynamic organisation that uses the combined resources and intellectual power of its membership to achieve collective objectives and to stretch international ambitions.
WUN research activities are focused into Global Challenges. These are collections of high-quality WUN collaborative research programmes that address issues of global significance. There are currently four Global Challenges:
-
Adapting to Climate Change
-
Understanding Cultures
-
Global Higher Education and Research
-
Global Public Health and Non-communicable Disease
Further information on the network is available on the WUN website while further information regarding the University of Alberta’s involvement with WUN and internal programs is available by visiting the pages listed in the navigation bar on the left.
